GLADIUS

This project began as a friendly challenged issued by Salome Roe from Roe Forge Studio with no particular time limit, just a challenge to do a gladius, something that I had never done. This is my first sword and there were definitely ups and downs and lots of lessons learned! The Gladius was hand forged from 1084 high carbon steel, the Guard and Pommel are made from Claro Walnut and the Handle is Gaboon Ebony, all with Nickel accent pieces. Blade length is 19 inches, and the balance is approximately 1.5 inches in front of the guard. This thing feels excellent in the hand! Enjoy!
